2nd Week - Annual Congress on Future Civic Life
Arrival: Flight from Zurich (or other airport) to Tel Aviv; transfer to hotel in Jerusalem. 2nd Day: City tour of Jerusalem; afternoon transit to host city of Jericho. Evening Program: Following dinner we join the first week participants in an intercultural Christmas and Together to One party. Departure: Transit to Jerusalem and Tel Aviv airport; return flight to Zurich (or other destination).

Time Out: During the conference you may not find time to fully explore the historic Holy Land. We therefore advise you to prolong your visit - arrive early or extend your stay.                       Our travel agency will be happy to assist you in finding a good solution.

Tourist Attractions: Jericho offers abundant opportunities to explore the Holy Land and its history. There are numerous biblical sites in and around the city, not to mention the crumbled walls. Also, Jericho is ideal as a home base from which to explore attractions further afield. Daytrips to Bethlehem, Qumran, Masada, the Dead Sea, Mount Temptation, Wadi Quilt, Jerusalem, and the hidden city of Petra in Jordan are all possible.

Sports and Activities:
Sometimes the fittest participants play a match with the soccer team from the local high school. What else awaits you? Two public tennis courts, Arabic horse riding, a camel ride into the sunset, hiking trips into the mountains and plenty of jogging trails alongside agricultural land.

Climate in Summer:
Jericho has a desert climate. In June the average temperature is 20 degrees Celsius in the morning, rising to 45 degrees Celsius by the afternoon. There is little humidity in the air. To prevent sunburn we advise you to wear full length light weight clothing and a hat.

Climate in Winter:
Daytime temperatures are very pleasant during the winter. Around lunch you can shed your clothes and sunbathe. But after sunset the temperature falls dramatically. Not many buildings have heating systems here. Make sure you bring long underwear and warm clothing when visiting in winter.

Meals:
The local cuisine is very tasty. As Jericho is surrounded by agricultural land, local dishes are usually filled with a wide variety of vegetables and fruits. Jericho has good quality spring water, but during the rainy season it is safer to drink bottled water.

Accomodations in Jericho:
Depending on your budget you may choose from:
  - Good quality 3, 4 and 5 star tourist class hotels.
  - Local youth hostels, basic Arab hotels, bed & breakfasts in private Arab houses.
  - A Luxury 5 star hotel with view overlooking the Dead Sea.
